All the Genki Racing game threads and none for Racing Battle: C1 Grand Prix?
It incorporates modes, rivals, and mechanics from all the other series and puts them on circuits. Apart from Touge no Densetsu it might be the deepest Genki racer of all.
No English version, so though I've managed to clear 99% of the game I'm stuck on the last few wanderers that Babelfish-style translations of Japanese hint pages have been unable to clear up.

If anyone knows anything about this, OR a new thread can be fired up, I'd appreciate it!

I had inquired about this game awhile back but it seems to be as popular as the PSP game - not popular at all. Having no english version is probably one of the biggest reasons for this - that and I suppose you need to be able to play japanese PS2 games on your console.

I can add a section for this game, but I highly doubt there will be much feedback from others than you.

I've seen a few English forums with threads about the game... they seem to be be players mostly based in Asia, I'm guessing the population here is overwhelmingly western. But NTSC-UK does have a pretty thorough translation guide.

I've played through the Japanese versions of a number of Genki racers, usually when I couldn't wait for an English version to be released, but I'll say Racing Battle would probably have been the hardest. It has the highest amount of Japanese in-game text coupled with huge depth. If you print out the picture-based guide from NTSC-UK it is manageble, and a lot of fun.

Maybe starting the thread isn't a bad idea. Since I'm mostly all the way through it, I could probably answer people's questions about it, maybe helping increase its popularity. For me, anyone with a better grasp of Japanese than mine may be able to look at the Japanese fan pages (I would link at some point) and help me be more definitive on the final wanderers.

Ultimately this IS a really good game. With the translation available it seems like a no-brainer for fans of Genki racing games, especially if the player is also down with Gran Tourismo style circuits. It is especially fun to finally be able to race the C1 from Shutokou Battle in the daytime.

judging from your description, it beats the shit out of enthusia and gt4 which are the only competitors since it features the same tracks.

Racing battle for ps3 would basically end all racing games...

or a ps3 kaido game. well not really since I dont have a ps3. theres too much GT fanboys. Sim fans would probably find C1 SP battles odd. arcade fans would see it as a possible game to rival NFS but get turned off when they realize they cant get down the course without crashing 100 X and facing the wrong way more times than they can count.

Xbox 360 game since i got it recently? maybe it'll be the only racing game i get for the console but i really wish it supports my DFP wheel.
