theres information for blackmail hidden in there? haha. idk the most progress you could probably get is send them a letter for 50 bucks and hope they get it and translate it then hope you get a response of what the next TXR game will look like

I wonder if you sent them a letter regarding the future of the TXR series -if they would send a letter back stating their plans. My guess is not really as they may not have future plans, they may not want to leak their future plans to someone of the general public (that's not a game reviewer or something), or they just may decide to toss the letter away.

I'm not sure it would hurt to send a letter with questions, comments, and/or suggestions.

I had heard Genki was small, but 153 employees doesn't sound too small to me. On the other hand - I have no other numbers to compare to.

Well, Genki's games have never been "made" for the US market. It's not their responsibility to release a game over here. It's publishers like Crave and Activision that translate and localize the games for us.

You'd have to ask a local publisher if they have an interest in any future projects Genki may have in store. It all comes down to their willingness to throw money at a franchise that is so under the radar. The same thing is happening with another title I love, Armored Core. Agetec is losing interest because in the first place, it never got any real advertising in the US, so it's an underground series. And even more so, the titles only get worse and worse as they are released, with the general feedback from the few that still play being mostly negative.

If a series is losing it's steam, publishers will back out and focus on other, more lucrative projects. All I can say is that I was supremely disappointed with Import Tuner Challenge, and I really hope that's only because it was the first try Genki had at a TXR title on the next gen consoles. Here's hoping Genki hasn't given up on it's fanbase, and hopefully the publishers in our respective countries will pick up on any new titles Genki may have lined up.

I wonder if contacting Crave would get results on any future releases. I mean, they have been a driving force behind many of the TXR games that have been here in the U.S. I doubt they have made much money from the series, but they have kept with supplying the U.S.

Maybe a thank you letter would help.

By the way, who published Import Tuner Challenge? Was it Crave or a new company?

I've emailed (asking about all the secrets and codes of Tokyo Xtreme racer games) both Crave and Genki a year ago and from my experience, Genki is a lot more responsive than Crave. I am very thankful to both companies for churning out some really awesome games in the past but lately I don't feel so confident about the future of their franchises. The environment has gotten increasingly competitive and flooded with racing games and I don't think the sales figures of their recent releases have been too good.

ITC was published by Ubisoft.

Sorry for missing the point, what driving games are getting all the attn these days? I still find genki's driving games the best. EA games? No way

Polyphony? Lazy bitches taking years generating hype and never delivering their games on time. Like what happened to Gran Turismo Mobile? So much promises so little action.

Gran turismo, forza, NFS shift, and some others are getting most of the attention right now.

I think Genki's racing games will have around the same attention overseas regardless of other games attention. It has it's own style and cult fanbase, which supports it. Gran turismo games and EA games have always had more attention outside japan. I would doubt Something like EA's games get much attention in japan. I would think forza gets little too, since japanese are often anti non japanese products so they'll probably play GT
I have no idea how successful genki's games are in japan, but it seems popular enough for them to keep the company going, and come up with semi large budgets, that involve tracing tracks, and involving professional drivers. I'm pretty sure most touge/drift enthusiasts as there are many of them in japan, would prefer Kaido series over GT series.

It may get more attention if it gets more advertisement, and the average person develops patience in racing games and/or learn to drive.

I think the whole series would get lots of attention if everyone had the patience to play more than 15 minutes before judging it. the whole TXR series has you working a lot on your driving and tuning, and it only rewards you slowly. I don't recall any game like NFS or Forza rewarding me of a clean driving any other way than having a clean car at the finish line. in TXR, you even get handles based on your style, and I love it! But people get discouraged when they get called "heartless hitter" or something like that. on the other side, being called "Supersonic Enlightened" is quite fun

I'm not saying Forza is a bad game (I'm really looking forward to Forza 3), but my main game will always be TXR, because it had a sense of depth no other game gave me yet. you had to dig a bit for the fun, but it's definitively worth it. other games kinda feel... empty

I agree completely, Forza was a nice game but it never gave me a feeling of actually being there, racing others. The TXR series has an interesting storyline and really sucked me into its world.
Much like an RPG, it made me want to progress and find out more about what's going on... yea, TXR = Crack :P
