OK, I just completed the game for the first time. Have some thoughts and questions.

I didn't expect to get this much enjoyment after having played the other updates in the series. It's got one of the highest fun factors and the best soundtrack. The majority of my battles were really close and I had to work hard to win.

I've been reading on how to unlock some extras and I get a little confused since there's a mix up with Japanese version which has slightly different codes/cheats/secrets.

1-Are there two different kinds of Porsches in the game?
2-To unlock the S30 / 240Z, you need to win 100 games in quick race mode. Do you have to win this in a row or can you use continue?
3-Lately, I've been thinking of buying the Japanese version to get the exclusive and special/super corolla. Can anyone confirm FConcolor's FAQs that game saves with this car from Shutokou Battle are compatible with TXR? I'd love to have that car in my garage, bad!

I will be going off of the U.S. ver. and I'm not sure which you have.

1.) Yes, two kinds of Porsches'. The 964 (911 Carrera) which is rear wheel drive and naturally aspirated only, and the 964T (which technically should be the 965) and is the 911 Turbo with four-wheel drive.

2.) No, the S30z is readily available to you once you beat the game. Just go in class A cars. 250,000 CP

3.) I did an experiment to see if the SB saves worked on the US ver. a cpl of years back using files from here.

None of those files for SB2 worked with TXR2, so I assume the file you want to DL won't work either.

Hi Emperor,

Sorry I forgot to mention I've got the US version. LOL, the game I'm referring to is the original or first TXR on Dreamcast not the sequel. You should try it out, it's pretty fun. Not as serious as TXR2.

I figured out how to unlock the S30 / 240Z and you don't need to win 100 games consecutively, whew.

I'm currently on the lookout to buy the Japanese version (Shutokou Battle). If I see a good deal in eBay, I'll try and snag one. There's a special corolla included in that version. It's the Sprinter Trueno based on Initial D and compared with the regular edition, it's a bit lighter and got an extra 100 hp. It's also one of the most drift friendly cars.

Oh, yeah the info I put was in regards to TXR2.

I have TXR, I think I've earned 75,000 CP in my S13 Silvia with out buying any mods for the car. lol. I like the music more than 2, it's more JDM than TXR2, and is kind of fun playing, especially hitting walls or something because the car just flies several feet off the ground.

Ya, it can be a bit tricky since TXR doesn't have it's own section. And apparently doesn't have too many people interested in it either.

I just completed the game for the first time few days ago. Best way to accumulate CPs is to beat the game at least once. Then start searching for the final boss (240Z), Zero's Porsche or Exhaust Eve's Supra and keep on battling them. Each victory will give you 20,000+ CPs!
