OK. Let me get this out. EA's current quality for the current is horrible. Take Undercover for example. Horrible frame rates, Graphic glitches, way too easy, Cut scenes are tacky and badly acted, open world seems empty, and the handling for the cars.

EA really needs to listen to fans of the game or give NFS to another game developer.

I’m very sad to hear that. I want to like the Need for Speed series, mostly because I’ve got a lot of nostalgia for the early NFS games that came out in the nineties and early 2000s. Everything between the first game and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 was excellent. Right now I’m expecting delivery of a copy of NFS Porsche Unleashed. I’ve always missed that game ever since it was stolen from me years ago.

Then I feel like the series took a turn for the worse when we got Underground in 2003. After that, I felt like it was just NFS in name only. I miss having nothing but exotic cars to race around in…I miss the exotic settings…and I certainly would not miss escaping from the Fast and Furious culture that NFS games have been soaking up for years now. I really don’t like NFS being defined by that nowadays.

However, I will say that Most Wanted was excellent…but ever since then I haven’t met a new NFS game that I truly love. Carbon was way too short, and you won hardly any money for races you completed (which essentially limited the amount of cash you could win during the game). ProStreet proved that NFS just isn’t NFS if you take the illegal nature out of it. And Undercover? I was hoping the series going back to being like Most Wanted would be a nice return back to good ideas… But, it’s not looking good right now.

I feel the same as Nail Strafer, I remember playing Road Challenge (High Stakes in the US) and it reminded me of motorshows, due to the fact the cars were untouched by all these 'modifications' such as WIDE bodykits, HUGE rims, NOS, etc, etc. They were cars such as the BMW M5, Ferarri F50, Aston Martin DB7, Jaguar XKR, cars with enough power with what they had been built with, not like these hatchbacks from about a decade ago.

In Undercover, sure there are mods for the cars as always, but there is a couple of spectacular super cars in there. It is such a shame that its not set up like NFS of the past, where you would be racing through the French countryside, or American forrests, rather than a city, just made with different colours each time (Carbon with its blues, whites and bright lights, and Undercover with its Oranges and hazy afternoon setting)

Hopefully, we could see a next generation version of Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, similar to the one on PS2, perhaps with a cockpit view, which is appearing in more and more games these days. This would hopefully bring it back to what it should have been like.

well i dont really have a problem with the quality as much as their lack of "effort-put-in" for the late-gen consoles (X-Box, PS2 etc.) They work really hard on the next gen...and the current gen looks and feels like crap..... I really really really hope undercover is good....

my friend told me something today which kinda pertains to NFS....

"You play a game, just for the sake of playing a game....Finishing it depends on how much you like that game"

Which is why i never finished PS

Let's hope the small companies like Genki can continue to try to fill in the growing gaps of quality racing games....

Not listen? But it's obvious they didn't like the way Pro Street went, so they decided to go back to illegal street racing. Or maybe you meant to say they DO listen considering "ain't never" is a double negative, and thus actually positive XD

On top of that, Undercover had much more development time (two years), so they weren't having to run their teams ragged to finish the game in one year.

Heh, I agree spyder, heres hoping that there is an ITC2 indevelopment for the 360!

Well, a lot of people agree that two years was spent on this game, yet the felt it could have been made better. Personally I haven't played it in about a week or two at all, and ITC is looking really tempting as we speak...

I thought Pro Street was diplorable. Organized racing? c'mon thats not NFS. I was expecting bad graifcs playing it on PS2 since its a next generation console game but, not like the way it was. WTF EA, you screwed up the Burnout series, now your screwing up NFS. I really wish that i didnt sell Hot pursuit 2 and i also wish that my computer would run NFS High Stakes.

Someone please tell me that they didnt butcher the 370Z in Undercover

i did like the organized racing of PS; it was a neat concept, but like you stated it's not NFS....plus, it was carried out wrong.....

good concept, bad execution....

the graphic quality of PS was actually pretty decent though...the biggest plus had to be the smoke detail...it looked much more real than it does in UC......in actuality, in the PS2 version of UC....THERE IS LITTLE TO NO SMOKE (wtf?)

thats dumb, because i remember EA posting a vid about Pro Street's features and one was the tire smoke. People would sit there doing burnouts just to watch the smoke encase the tires. That sound very detailed and sweet.

well anyway, so your saying that the smoke in UC is like a little puff of smoke like from Underground 2 or something?

I liked all NFS series games.
But I expected more.
I liked UC storyline.
PS was good for its detailed tuning.
DRAG on PS OWNS.

PS on pc is pretty good, with more than 150 cars with some mods here and there ;)

If Pro Street would let you blow your tires out, I would be doing that now. After Pro Street, to me, the series is dying or dead. It sucks after Pro Street. that game was a good change, but I would have appreciated EA for making a new version of Hot Pursiut 2. I LOVE being chased by cops. In Carbon though some of the challenges were insane, like get 50 cops to chase you. somehow I did it in Kenji's RX-7. (I got his pink slip). At least Gran Turismo is keeping it's quality. I remember the good old days when the original NFS on the PS1 was the best... I would play it for hours on end... I've been noticing that great game manufacturers have ben making crappy games for the last few years, os I'm keeping my old but good games. some people may call me stupid, but I'm better than they are.
