After a chat with why, we thought it might be beneficial to explain how to get the most mileage out of your video programs. First of all, try reading this page before you get to upload a video to You Tube. It gives you all the basics you need to know, really. Record in MPEG-4 at 640x480 resolution. A word of warning though...if you're using Pinnacle Studio you will need to have the Plus version to export in MPEG-4.

Anyway, if you follow YouTube's directions, you can achieve crystal clear video like this here:

As for recording...I prefer to use Pinnacle Studio 12 Plus and record footage in MPEG 1/2 at DVD quality. If you're recording footage from something that's standard def, there's no point in going any higher. You need to start with high quality if you want to have it at the end.

Yeah, our talk really shocked me when Nail was talking about how long his videos were with how small of a video file he was coming up with. In the past I have been using AVI format (DV Quality) and when I recorded a course replay of around 2-4 minutes I would end up with 500MB - 1GB size files.

Using the MPEG2 format to record, file size for a 1 minute clip was around 90MB, and when trimmed and exported, it was down to 85MB. Quality of the footage is basically as good as the AVI format, but much much smaller file size.

This will make storage space on your computer much more friendly, as well as making uploading times to YouTube much faster. Win/Win as far as I can see.

Here is the video I uploaded, it is actually probably the clearest video I've uploaded to-date. I'm really looking forward to new TXRD2 videos in this format.
