Yay thread revival.
GT4 > Forza.
I've used the DFP and the controller; only controller on Forza 2 (one time at a kiosk was all I needed), and I'll say that while GT4 is indeed limited in customization in the visuals department, the physics are unparalleled on a console save maybe GT5:P which I have not had the pleasure of playing. Aaand with that said they're still glitched quite badly in areas, but what isn't?
GT Legends, GTR2, rFactor... All superior in physics to GT4, and LFS superior to them... But they're PC games, not something that has to run with about 300mhz of processor.
I'm sure FM2 would entertain me for a while but I doubt Forza itself in any iteration will come close to GT in terms of overall depth.
I've tuned countless cars in GT4 not just for personal use but for the public, and I'll say that GT has indeed been THE best investment I've made. (Not just parts either... I go through everything)
i would rate both enthusia and txrd2 better than gt4 in terms of physics, but i havent really played gt4 much. maybe even gt3 from what i've read but i played that so long ago before getting into cars.
gt4 cars were really understeery and you cant do donuts. bumpy surfaces, elevation changes, etc seemed to have no effects on gt4. though it may have been just hard to realize since there were so little elevation changes on most of the gt circuits.
on a side note, i'm pretty sure if someone really wants to make a game on ps2 that rivals something like LFS in physics, they can. they just dont focus on having fun and graphics which is whats neccessary to sell. Maybe GT5 will be the most realistic racer, i'll have to play it a lot, and drive all the real cars, to find faults(which would not happen)
