the L6 turbo is the best, although the rotary one would befitting to the RX-7 i think that and the L6 max out at 700+ or 600 deff L6 turbo for 240Z and Nissan, rotary turbo for RX7

S13 from what I hear runs great with a NA Rotary.

The FD, the engine is really up in the air, you can use the Turbo Rotary, Turbo L4, Turbo L6, even a Turbo F4. But it's really up to you to pick the engine that would be best suited.

The 240Z, the only good engine I have seen with it is the L6 Turbo.

Yes, anything between 200 and 279ps factory rated should get the NA rotary (as in it is the best swap). Well, at least so I think. I'm PRETTY sure you only start getting the 600hp and change swaps after 280ps factory rating.

Light, every bit as (or more) powerful than the other swaps, and it REVS.

Also depends on the car. The NA Rotary isn't always the most powerful engine, like take the GT4. It's running a 250 PS motor. Yet it's most power swaps are the L4 Turbo, F4 Turbo, I think the F6 Turbo, and the Rotary Turbo. You just have to look over each engine. It's best to pick out the one that best suits you. But still, there are said to be better engines for different cars.

without a doubt L6 for the FD RX7. 727hp, 6-speed transmission. can't beat that. AND its a real life swap...

I just started another game and trying to use only VIP cars. Started with the Maxima and just bought the Cima. Waiting to get the 300VIP Cedric. By chance what would you guys suggest as a possible swap for the Maxima? Thinking of just sticking with the L6 Turbo, but just curious. Maybe a V8 NA?

you cant beat the L6 Turbo. i've tried using the V8 NA in a AE86 to some success, but even the V6 NA was better. since you are trying something new, try to make a V8 work, be it NA or Turbo. (i find both to be pretty bad, not in a good way)

I'd probably agree that the L6-turbo is the way to go for probably all the above listed cars. However, you should note that they won't all get 6-spd transmissions just because they get the L6-turbo swap. For example, the Mazda RX-7 FD3S will remain 5-spd after the swap and the Silvia S15 will get 5-spd even though stock its a 6-spd! The S15 is just a weird car to swap stuff into...

really? i never noticed that about the transmission on the FD... the S15 doesn't get the 727hp from the L6 though. however, when paired to its proper engine, it does get the highest level of tune. L4 Turbo is at 693hp i believe. same goes for the MR2 GT.

if you put a V8 turbo in the RX-7 it would be like swaping an LS1 froma corvette in to it!

In real life, people DO put Corvette engines in RX-7s. One I can think of right now is Mike Schaler's '93 FD3RS RX-7. I found this in a issue of Sport Compact Car. They also put them in Miatas. They FLY.

txrdriftking- CA King. Score: 1,234,900. Car: Citroen Xsara. Course: Haruna. BEAT THAT!!!

LS swaps are common. They're light weight and they're reliable. There are debates whether that is taboo or not, but many RX-7 guys do the swap and they form there own groups at the meets. LS2 swaps and LS7 swaps are no big deal... I'm waiting to see someone do the LS9 swap from the ZR1.

For the miatas, I believe they put the 4.6L Ford Windsor V8. And the common swap for the RX7 was the LS1 from the Camaro. But someone was able to swap in the LS7 from the Corvette into an EK9 Civette. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/v8-civic_142556.htm

they put ford windsor 5.0L 302ci's in the miatas.. they call them monster miatas.. put a stock exhaust setup and some boost and nothing will see what hit them.

They say that they are no longer miata's. Once you swap, the handling of the miata is gone. Which is what miata's are known for.
