I love this anime, it's very interesting at the beginning, but it gets dull after some time becaus takumi always uses the same trick to save his ass! Nevertheless, very good anime. My favourite cars is definitely "GodFoot" R-34. But I still love takumi's trueno, but only the one on stage 4.

Takumi's leaned new tricks like the lights off one and flashing at the right time to throw off his opponents.

he gets lucky again in his 1st 5th stage battle(manga only so far) since the mx-5's GT wing broke during the race, which was close.

is it luck? or sabotage ?

I have 2 admit that i love godfoots GT-R also. Iheard that the only reason they came back out with Inital D was to compete wit wagan midnight. what if they did a cross over? who would win? where would they race?

Are there any other mangas/animes like Initial D? I mean Initial D is good, but nothing like variety

Kesuke finds himself in the midst of the race of his life....He's behind...not by much, but enough where he cannot find out what car he's against....it looks kinda bulky....maybe it's a gloria...or a cefiro.... well that's not the case. He pushes his rotary to the limit to try close the gap. He rounds a corner, and HOLY S***!? the bridge is out....
he soon finds himself plummeting....down...down.....down....

it's easy to predict who'd win with wangan midnight vs initial d
wangan midnight characters would be blown away easily on any touge course since their cars are way over powered, and drivers arent really skilled.

Initial D cast would be blown away easily on the wangan since their cars are overpowered.

initial D vs over rev is a better match, considering it's the regular skilled rivals instead of main cast. initial D's main cast wins since they can do things like drift over open gutters and drive in heavy storms without headlights on. Factor in Bunta who can drift while lighting a cigarette and it's no competition. Sawako should have no problem schooling the speedstars and probably beat the Night kids and maybe the emperors and red suns noobs.

You make a good point on that one Rotary, but what if it was even ground? some place where there are lots of turns as well as strights? And what about the Devil Z I think that would be good compatison for either K.T.'s FD or the 86. Akio did take it to Hakone a few times. What if Bunta and Jun Kitami both tuned a car? That thing would be a monster.

BTW is Over Rev still going on?

hopefully someone else will translate over rev and put it online somewhere, or they finally decide to make an anime. i have no idea what the current status is. theres a live action movie i found on youtube titled "japanese drift girl"

Akio would probably have trouble with the speedstars on an average touge course. theres a difference between driving on the touge competitively and just doing an occasional run on it because the wangan was blocked off by cops.

if it was a neautral course with some long straights i would say Keisuke should be able to pull it off due to mad skills plus the fact that he has an FD which is easy for project D to tune. Takumi would probably win by luck giving his track record of what happens with any disadvantages, and the fact that he's probably slightly more skilled than keisuke.
Wangan midnight's cast isn't exactly really skilled since they often crash the same way, and dont race on courses with 1 day experience that are poorly lit and barely constantly twisty. sure they deal with traffic but see how takumi avoided a car while having his hand taped, and look how he avoided being sandwitched in a massive pileup in the latest chapter.

possibly ..fuji speedway,suzuka,tsukuba,nurburgring or manaco .

if they raced on any of those tracks ..al the anime characters from every driving show would have a chance (exept iketani from initial d....hed just under steer again and end up in the wall at the end of fuji speed way's strait) .

i'm pretty sure theres some F1 racing anime. Bunta and project D get their asses handed to them for the 1st time unless, they get really lucky somehow(mechanical failure or the other guy crashes) or they are allowed to drive F1 cars on the track for a day's practice.

now imagine if the speed stars managed to beat anyone include no name losers.

if iketani raced itsuki or that other speed stars member, he'd probably manage to get a win. The day the speed stars manage a win against anyone would be funny.

as for topgear testing ID cars...would be funny to try see the cast, or the stig, try re-create scenes LOL...imagine trying to do the hairpin jump or the gutter trick takumi used against Toruh

touge showdown crew would do a better job of recreating it. They already do some gutter drop techniques on their races on occasion.
