just an idea i got. Well idk if this is gonna work, and the idea itself will need some fine-tuning...but here it is.

Its a Time-Attack on Haruna where you can use ANY car...

HOWEVER

there's a target CA count (like lets say 150 000 pts) you must reach to keep your time. So the point is to drift as fast as possible while achieving the total points.

You get time taken off for a better score (like for every 10 000 pts over, you get one second off) and time added if you don't reach the target (maybe 1 second ever 2 000 points).

Like i said this is an idea (probably the CA totals will need to change) so ... if i get enough comments, i'll go ahead and start the challenge

Ok then

The competition is next week (7/20-> when ever; the weekend is open for CA point requests...kinda leaning towards 150-175K atm)

Haruna (Downhill; dry)
CA Standard: 175 000 CA PTS
TA Top Time:
Car Used:

For every 5000 points under 150000, you add one second to your total time. For every 10 000 Points over the target amount, you take off one second. Good luck and get your cars ready ~!

(Note: CA points are Rounded by the thousands, for example; 168,576pt = 169,442pt = rounded to 169,000pt)
ALSO
Scores within 500 pts of each time-decrease "zones" will count...er...lets say you score 194 673. It would count to Two seconds off your time instead of one and a "WTFWTFWTF I WAS SO CLOSE"

As far as CA scores, I would consider a 200,000pt-spot. Now I pulled that number from ranking board of Haruna, Downhill. To be in the Top 30 scores, competitors only have to score about 186,000pts.... so putting the 'bar' a bit higher would mean that everyone that posted a score around that amount will be in good standings Officially as well as in this challenge.

If that seems a bit high, then I would go with 175,000pts - that will still put you easily in the top 35 entries.

I really like the way you have the time/points figured in - 10,000pts to shave off a second from the total time sounds pretty reasonable. If there was more people participating that weren't as advanced in drifting as some of us - then you could make it 5,000pts/second. It would give grip racers a better fighting chance.

It would be nice to hear from others besides the 4 of us on this thread already (Otaku, Driftoner, Siljasn, and myself) if they were gonna compete.

EDIT: I would also like to say I like the idea of rounding the scores too - should make pushing the limits even more tempting since there is about a 1000pt 'equalizing' area. (i.e. 168,576pt = 169,442pt = rounded to 169,000pt).

EDIT #2: There is no penalty for hitting the walls, correct? I just thought maybe there should be a small penalty for someone that hits the walls in multiples of 10 (10, 20, 30, 40, etc.). Hitting the wall happens, but I would like to eliminate 'wall riding' offenders... Maybe add 1 second to final TA time for every 10 wall hits, with no rounding up... (so technically you could hit the wall 19 times and only get 1 second added).

well wall-riding doesnt really come into play...i mean think about it this way

On Haruna, many of the CA points are on tough corners (with the exceptions of maybe 2-3 corners) so wallrides would only happen primarily on high-speed, low-degree corners, and wall-riding those corners would most likely slow your time down. But seeing as its 1 sec. per every 10, that seems reasonable

And 175 seems good, and i think 5K seems very respectable (and like you said, it gives grip racers a better shot)
I'm also taking it you want us to enter our times in the official boards :D

sounds like we're good to go :surprised:

We can either bump the start date to "from now on" or keep it at monday

I'll leave the Official Ranking entries up to each participant - but I know I will be submitting mine unless I really suck, lol. We can leave the start date as Monday, doesn't matter to me. I know I'll start practicing a bit - getting a car tuned for this event (long course, need a car with not-too-aggressive tire wear  ).

OK this challenge is OPEN~
begin to submit your times/CA scores to the ranking board

(Note, for the CA run, if you don't write down your time when the CA results screen come up, you won't get another chance to see the time. The run's time does not appear in the CA ranking on the official board nor does it appear in the "results" tab in game)

why dont we just take a picture of our screen when we finish a run?

That will show 100% proof of time and score.

So have we agreed upon some final requirements for this competition. I would like to know what I have to shoot for exactly - and what I'm looking to lose by not getting the minimum pts.

If we finalize the details there won't be any "Well I thought...." later on.

ok so the FINAL DECISION:
Course: Haruna (Downhill, dry)
Standard CA points: 175 000 pts

Time is added (one second) for every 5K under the standard (170 000 pts = 1 second, 165 000 = 2 seconds and so on)
Time is taken off (one second) for every 10K over the standard (185 000 , 195 000 and so on)
Time is also added for wall hits (every 10 hits = 1 second; 0-9 = 1 second; 10-19= 2 seconds, and so on)

Note: CA points are Rounded by the thousands, for example; 173,576pt = 174,442pt = rounded to 173,000pt

Runs will be submitted through the Kaido Battle 3 website (http://club.genki.co.jp/wbr3/) via 20-Character code (should appear after every Record Challenge race). Translation can be found in Whyspyder's stickied post in the Challenge sub-forum

just to let ya know i broke the 200K mark for my run, so we may need to jack up the CA amount (although i do think 175 is pretty fair enough...that 200K run was my highest scoring one by at least 60K points)

Submit entries using the following:

Name: (obvious)
Car: (above)
Score: (same)
Time: (original time as accurately as possible)
Total time: Factored with wall hits and CA score. Please use a font color that stands out for the total time
Wall Hits: X hits (adds X amt)

CURRENT LEADERBOARD

sorry bout the double post, but i don't think my entry needs to be included with the rules and such:

Name: Taikun
Car: Nissan Sta-ge-ah RSFour
Score: 209 661 (rounded to 210 000. minus 3 seconds)
Time: 4'34"823 (minus 2 seconds)
Total time: 4'32"823
Wall Hits: 8 (adds one second)

FIXED

Otaku, you might want to check your final time... your 8 wall hits would count as +1 second, however you forgot to add the third -1 second you would get for being over 205,000pt. Anyways, your time would stay the same as you have it posted.

Also, I'm pretty sure I scored my CA points right but I am not 100%. I'm guessing since I didn't get to 215,000 I don't qualify for the next "10,000pt = -1 second"..

Name: why_spyder
Car: Nissan Stagea 260RS
Score: 213884
Time: 4'51"092
Hits: 6
Total time: 4'51"092 + 1 second [0-9 hits] - 3 seconds [30,000+ pts] = 4'49"092
