i always thought enthusia was better to and agree for the most part. It would be cool if someone did a vid on some of genki's games. maybe not the txr series since it doesnt seem to try to be realistic but C1(which I havent tried) or TXRD2

It has been a long time since I played Enthusia - but didn't like it. After thinking about it, I probably didn't like it because at the time I knew nothing about tuning cars.

GT4 was a huge dissapointment to me - and that is why I still have GT3 (favorite simulator) and not GT4.

I'm not sure if I'd be good at doing a comparison of games - but I'd have to compare GT3 and TXRD2 if I was going to. For one, I have both of them, and two, they are the two that I enjoy most playing.

I played gt3 a long time ago, but that was before I knew anything about tuning and controlling cars. I would say it's easier, when i first tried but it might have been because of how much more forgiving the circuit courses are compared to touge.

it'll probably be harder to do a txrd2 comparason because it doesnt have the same tracks.
I would say txrd2 is more realistic than gt4(I havent really played much GT4 though). simulator is just a name since there really arent any ps2 games that are truly realistic. gt4 had so much bumps that dont seem to effect the car's movements, you can't do donuts, elevation changes didnt effect the cars, wear out tires/brakes, cars tend to understeer easily when they should oversteer, etc.

Enthusia compared to txrd2 is a little more of a good comparason. Enthusia's stock FR cars often oversteers a little too easily, and their high end cars have a little too much grip. less elevations that effect grip which would be txrd2's advantage, rally tracks dont feel as lively in enthusia(grip and slipping wise). Enthusia's supposed to have a touge track(which I havent unlocked), which should make a good comparason.

TXRD2's favourite bit is the realistic rubber feeling of its tyres. THe rubber actually grips the tarmac like in real life. Enthusia is a bit too wooden wheel on a hockey table feeling. But TXRD2's problem is when it's drifting, the whole car seems to be controlled by another force that jerks it around, you can experience it on open surface like gymkhana.

TXRD2 is closest to Live for speed which is probably a good thing. You get the sway effects so you can't drive without having good grip on a steering wheel over 80-100mph depending on your car settings. Braking without ABS just feels right. Theres no other ps2 game I know where you can lose control and spin around just by tapping the brakes easily. Also you get a really big traction difference when you move from ground to tarmac streets, thats really similar to LFS. The force feedback is also better than enthusia and GT4. GT4 just feels kind of loose, while enthusia is not as strong.

Enthusia physics are okey at low speeds but your cars never fade and braking isn't good. GT4's physics are just odd, whenever I played, i found myself screaming under, under under under, like tsuchiya testing the cars he didn't like. And I actually tried tuning my cars to be more on the unstable oversteery side.

i totally agree...the physics in the "driving simulators" like enthusia/Gran turismo are just too understeery. although i have to say, Enthusia is winning in my books...LOL a controlled drift at 30 MPH in an Elgrand is win

R34, does the guy have TXRD2?

Enthusia's not really that understeery and is known to oversteer and hard to play with casual gamers. Cars should have a chance to both under and over, but some should under or over more than others, which GT4 really lacked. It's hard to pull off really cool drifts in enthusia compared to TXRD2 though since you can do little tuning and LSD, steering angle, traction, power, etc is only so good. and it's hard to figure out which cars had abs, tcs, etc.

(I know it sounds like a TXR Profile but it's true. he held the crown for Hakone in WMMT3 for a whole year.)

nice vid. it seems a lot worst if you can e-brake like me with a wheel. e-braking just seems to give weird effects, and in short, seems to almost always slow down your car with more understeer, while creating more unrealistic tire screeching than it should when i'm not drifting. every once in awhile you can do a 180 from ebraking too much, but hardly ever, and it should do that with a simple flick+ebrake with the way I tune my FR cars.
The attessa system would be hard to mimick, and i dont really understand how it's supposed to work in real life. maybe GT5 would get it. I managed to drift the last wide corner with some tuned cars, but not in a realistic way.

GT4's a reasonable similator if you only count FF cars with strong ABS. Here's my full review if you havent seen it.
