If i was a pro reviewer i'd probably check my gramar and spelling more and proofread a bit, which i dont care about for casuals. I'll probably have to get a degree in journalism or something, and i dont think theres that much money in that and takes too much time. I'd also want to spend some time on a race track to make better comparasons, but the reason i havent is because of financials.

but anyways i think the reason why GT4 got good reviews is probably because they know nothing about cars, and it's noob friendly ontop of content, and graphics(not counting the rain).

Rotary, I am very curious as to your claim of Enthusia's physics being inferior to that of TXRD2. Care to elaborate?

I have sampled almost all racing games in PS2's library (except RBR) with wheel support, and I can honestly say that I have great doubts in your claim.

i've never sampled rbr either, or know what it is. You didn't bother posting in any other forums or playing looking around? So i'm not sure if you even tried it.

enthusia-vs-txrd2-physics-handling-comparason-t998.html
read my post here.

anyways for safe comparasons, try playing a real sim like live for speed and speeding up to around 90 mph with oversteery settings, no body upgrades, without touching the wheel with a logitech dfp or better wheel. Now try doing the same in EPR or TXRD2.
also try turning off abs, and adding stronger rear brakes, and weaker rear tires, in TXRD2 and speed up then brake and see which ones closer. You can say it's kind of unfair since you can't turn off abs and adjust brake settings in EPR.
Neither game is perfect and can't really bounce too much for example, and enthusia does have some strengths, like the more realistic speedo.

Also similar is when you go off the dirt sections to road in TXRD2, your car over steers easily because your front tires gain traction first.

Excuse me for posting in this thread; I have read your "comparason" beforehand, but didn't think of joining and posting until I read your "awards".

As for your suggestion of comparing LFS with TXRD2 and Enthusia, here is what I understand (please correct me if I am wrong):

- LFS: "Oversteery" settings, no "body upgrades" (by the way, I am assuming those AE86 and S13 mods on the internet)

- TXRD2: No ABS, weaker rear tyres, stronger rear brakes

- Enthusia: Nothing.

Why all the "oversteery" modifications for LFS and TXRD2? Why are you suggesting them to be more realistic with such unstable settings made? Why can't we compare these games with their default settings? Especially since TXRD2 and Enthusia share so many of the same cars!

I am aware that in LFS, ABS is absent in all cars. I have played it extensively online, and I can claim that I can brake with no instability, even with a "drift" setting. Of course, I "threshold" brake, so I don't lock up the brakes and swap ends of my car.

TXRD2, with your recommended settings, will spin around. But that is hardly proof that it is similar to LFS, since "weaker rear tyres and stronger rear brakes" are axillary modifications to the physics system to mask its flaws.

In Enthusia, you will lock your brakes if you slam it, and if your try to enter a corner with too much braking force, you will initiate oversteer.

As much as I hate to say it, Genki's TXR series have had broken physics ever since the beginning. The most horrifying flaw is the way cars suddenly stop their rotational momentum in mid-drift, and refuse to carry that momentum forward. Despite TXRD2's flaws, I still like it as ever, since it is the only game that succeeds, in some extent, in simulating mountain driving. However, if someone says TXRD2 is more realistic than Enthusia, I will have to disagree.

If you just compare without mods, enthusia wins, because txrd2 had cars set up all the same with just balance, weight and power differences. But I don't know why that's the only thing that matter unless you are too lazy to mod anything, which includes abs, tcs, steering angle.

You missed the point that you can also mod suspension to oversteer more in the career mode in EPR but it still never wants to sway on straights

But i'm not really modifying the physics, just the handling aspects of a car like you could in rl. In real life you can drive with stronger front tires, and do other modifications. You are not limited to only one type of engine upgrade, tires upgrading by itself, lack of downforce, etc.. Which you can't do in enthusia.

you lock your brakes a lot easier in txrd2 without abs on, and spin easier or understeer into a wall depending on the car. and they never fade, tires never wear out, to make the game harder as you drive

You can play LFS with abs on, with one of the more recent mods. I've personally never turned it on though.
