This is mainly asking about what you normally do within these games, if you like to run the Mountains to running the Wangan. What do you normally do then you play these games?

I myself have always loved the Highways, this is more so in TXR0. Because this is the only game(On a Platform I own) that I can run a 240Z that happens to go over 200 MPH. But I'm always lively to run the C1 in both TXR0 and TXR3. As I'm gonna start building a C1 car for TXR3 soon.

I also like the Mountains, but my style has always been grip. Due to years of play GT, I have pretty much built my style up on grip and running a racing line. But I can drift, but never really enjoyed it so much. But I have built quite a few tunings for Grip in TXRD2. But sadly I do not have these anymore.

But what about you, it's pretty simply ^_^

I love highway racing, just was never very good at it. Handling the cars on the the TXR0 and TXR3 has been challenging for me - which is why I haven't put them ahead of the other games I have.

Mountain racing is much more my style - fits my skills a bit better. I focus more on the drifting rather than grip - but I try to tune my cars to be as versatile as possible. There's something about the grace of sliding around the corners - like its an art form.

Yea, both are two totally different worlds. But the Physics in each game are different, so you might like one more then the other. But that's how it is, but yes. Drifting is a beautiful art form. That's something I can say.

Unfortunately - I'm not as "artistic" as some drifters are in the TXRD2 game... At least I try. :P

I guess I'm a lot like Starking. I far prefer the highways, I love the high speed, and I'm a lot better at it. I never drift, I hate drifting to be honest. Always grip, trying to hold the tightest racing line right on the edge of crashing, yet making it look easy.
I'm a perfectionist and rely on building absolute skill, so I never hit the walls and refuse to race against people without a No-Hit rule in place. If I'm doing a personal TA and brush the wall, I restart.
In a TA against another player, if I brush the wall once and my opponent doesn't, even if my time is 10 seconds faster, I consider it a loss.

Mountain passes? I like them, but I'm not so great at those, and I don't find them as fun.

If I'm not trying to shave another tenth of a second off one of my records, I'm casually cruising around in Quest mode, usually in something other than my 33R, something slower most of the time, like a Trueno or an RX3, just for leisure. It's no fun if I can't let myself relax once in awhile, right?

I started out on the shotuko, and then witched to the kaido. i like the kaido better, but a high speed cruise down the metro expressway is a blast as well.

Oh, and like sensei, im a grip racer. ill set my cars to be a bit on the tail happy side, but thats mainly to kill understeer in certain situations.

I just try to imagine that I'm in the world. Some times, I feel like pushing it to the limit that my tires can go, other times I feel like breaking free around a corner, and other times I just want to cruise and enjoy the marvel of the road.

I definitely enjoy cruising the mountain passes. For being such a "cheap" game, the scenery on some of the courses is just so relaxing.

Many times I when I go cruising it turns into a tire burning festival - drifting, brake-standing, and "super-shifting" (when tires are worn out - shifting hard through the gears to keep the tires burning).

I like driving in the C1 loop lines best. I find this section ideal for engaging in one on one battles, setting time attack records and tuning my car's handling. I also think this area is great for both grip and drift style driving.

Wangan is ok too, but mainly if it's gonna be a close one on one battle. Otherwise, I find the long straightaways not as exciting and best for setting top speed.

In terms of drifting vs. grip I like both. Drifting is much more fun and rewarding but you don't get to execute the best time attack records. That's where grip driving comes in.

I've been thinking about buying TXRD2 and giving a chance to touge / mountain driving. But it seems a bit more technical than highway racing and I don't think I've got the time yet for learning that given that I still need to hone my skills in Tokyo's freeway.

I too enjoy the mountain passes. I love cruising through the twisties and enjoy the feel of the environment. whether it be cruising, drifting, time attack, or just goofing off. Not good at it, but barrels of fun.

too bad TXR3 butchered the 240Z.
They listed the engine as 1998cc which is 2.0 liter, but the 240Z has 2393cc, 2.4 liter engine. So...wtf?

Anyway, depends on which game im playing, in TXRD2, im usually doing some Ghymkana level 9 drifting so i can get a load of cash (thank you sponsors

No, in Japan the 240Z(The Japanese name is Fairlady) came with a 2 Liter motor. Unlike the US spec version, the Japanese version didn't need the higher spec motor. So they simply went with a 2 liter over the 2.4 liter.

i like drifting, it requires skill to pull off, and its satisfying when u pull off a good drift. im currently playing TXR2 cuz we got a dreamcast again, and i just love getting the FC or s14 to drift around corners and dodge traffic at the same time. but i do realize that grip turning is better when racing cars with higher power to maintain the lead.

so being a drifter, i'd prefer the mountains. goin downhill and attacking corners in a 240, i love it

oh....oops, I tend to go by U.S. specs which usually screws me up.

i just like racing on the highways and tuning any of my machines to perfection. Don't like hitting walls or other racers.

Ok. It seems I Have Finally made my Way here.

I'm Shadlor, A Kaido Runner. The Mountains Seem to Call Out to me. As for my Style. Look my Name on Youtube. I have a few Videos up. I can't really say which i Prefer. Drifting when done correctly is Faster. While grip is more secure.

Then again I am a Rwd runner. and am kinda Baised. Sorry But as much as i respect the Lan-Evo and they're perfection. My SA22C will sit at the top of my List. even if it isnt my Fastest Rwd.

I'm wanted for tire murder on both the highway and the touge.

I've always tuned my cars for drift - just in the case of TXR0, it's a very fast drift...

Haven't loaded TXR0 up in ages, but last I recall I was all about a monster S14a.

If TXRD2 had similar music to TXR3, I would play it much more often! Jazz-like stuff can't get me into a mood to drive hard. For some odd reason, I tune my cars for drift on mountain passes and "high-grip" for the highway. I don't know what makes me enjoy them, maybe it's just since it's a rather obscure title.

The music on TXRD2 is a buzzkill - that's why I've muted the music on the game and keep my 2,000-3,000 song music library close by (on my laptop).

In real life, I grew up in major cities, and highways always caught my attention.

In TXR 1, 2, and ITC, the highways pulled me in and didn't let go... the way the roads go up over and under each other, and the sometimes claustrophobicly close quarters at speed are an amazing mix.

I never really drifted much in the mountains because I didn't have a PS2, so I didn't get into the Kaido Battle series. I would imagine that has aspects that are amazing too when you get them right.

But for me, for right now, the highways of Toyko keep calling. It continues to be a journey.

well actually I love both. I think drifting is more natural to me, because well... that's how i learned to drive. i didn't bother about being smooth, and always ended up breaking traction, so I thought I might as well compose with it (i didn't know shit about cars back then). but the more i drove, the more addicted to it I got, and actually my drifting was incredibly fast, it even smoked some grip runs (ask my friend : we did a TA on Haruna, he gripped his supra, i drifted my S13, and i won by a good 20 seconds).

but after learning a bit about cars, i gradually started grpping, finding it frustrating at first, almost natural now. but now so long as I'm driving fast, I'm happy. I love grip because it's really faster when done right, and when you're good you can get to incredible speeds on not-so-fast courses (on dry pavement anyways), but drifting, even in a videogame, makes me remember where I come from, and even inches to the wall, it relaxes me.

and that's in most games, not just TXR (still my favorite series though)
